Paper Abstract:      Many measures have been proposed to equip Norwegian teachers to tackle the ever greater challenges they face. Web based learning is one such measure and there have been great expectations for technology-based solutions. However there is still a lack of research into how teachers actually use web-based professional support and into their opinions of it. This article explores findings from a study of how teachers use the web-based guidance facility “Teachers’ Forum”. The teachers assess the forum’s user-friendliness and relevance as high but have more reservations in respect of the value of using the forum. Nuances in the findings provide information that is important for the future development of similar facilities.
